Homestead Preserve will launch The Milk House Market, a dual-operation welcome center and refreshment shop, on Friday, May 23. The Preserve will house the venture in Old Dairy Community Center’s newly renovated 1920s Milk House and will allow for “one-stop” convenience in offering fresh-daily food items and Homestead Preserve information.

Open to Preserve homeowners, tourists, and the Bath County community, The Milk House Market will serve fresh-brewed premium coffee and espresso drinks as well as sandwiches and sides provided by Elliott’s Catering. The Market will offer sodas, juices, cold teas, and water along with snack items and a supply of basic food staples. The shop will also stock an inventory of gourmet food items such as breads, cheeses, sauces, and condiments and will eventually provide space for a small-scale farmers’ market allowing local farmers to sell their goods and produce.

The Milk House Market will also serve as a center for Homestead Preserve homeowner information. Market staff can make Founders’ Cottage reservations, check-in Charter Home members, and suggest current activities and events within a one-hour drive of Homestead Preserve.

Homestead Preserve developers Charles Adams and partner Don Killoren were instrumental in the design and development of Celebration, Florida, near Orlando, which was hailed as the “Most Advanced Community in the Country from 1996-1998” by The Guinness Book of World Records.
